  • 7 grams of baking powder

How to make Pizza Pie:

Pizza Pie Recipe

Step 1:

To start preparing this spectacular pizza crust cake, form a crown with the flour on the clean table.

Step 2:

In the center of the crown, add the oil, yeast, and warm water.

Step 3:

Mix all the ingredients from the center to the edges to form the dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes, cover the bun and let it rest until it doubles in volume.

Step 4:

Once that time has passed, take a quarter of the dough to stretch it with the help of a rolling pin and some extra flour. Use the base of a removable pan to cut the size of the pizza base. Repeat with another quarter of the bun to get 2 discs of the same size.

Step 5:

Place both bases on a baking sheet previously greased with a little oil and prick the dough with a fork. Cook them in the oven at 200 ºC for 12 minutes or until they are lightly golden as if you were making a pre-pizza. Set them aside and keep the oven on.

Step 6:

While the bases are cooking, roll out another quarter of the dough. This time, cut a disk a little bigger than the base of the mold, as you can see in the image.

Step 7:

To form the pizza cake, grease the mold with a little oil and place the largest uncooked disk on the base. Roll out the remaining dough and cover the edges of the pan. Using wet fingers, join the bottom of your pizza pie with these edges to make sure the filling doesn’t leak. In turn, join each strip of dough you use to cover the edges.

Step 8:

Once you have completely lined the mold, spread the bottom with tomato sauce and add fresh cheese or mozzarella. In addition, you can add other ingredients that you like, since at this moment you are already preparing the filling of the cake. For example, you can add olives, tuna, or sliced mushrooms.

Step 9:

Place the first pizza base that you have precooked and spread more tomato sauce. Add fresh cheese or mozzarella and the ham cut into strips or minced.

Step 10:

Add the last pre-cooked base and also spread it with the tomato and add the cheese. Roll up the edges to achieve the classic pizza shape. Remember that you can add all the ingredients you want, such as chopped vegetables and even minced meat.

Step 11:

Cook your pizza pie in the hot oven for about 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, have increased in volume, and the cheese has melted.

Step 12:

Unmold the pizza cake very carefully to prevent it from breaking or falling apart, although we are sure it will be perfect! Enjoy it hot or warm, whichever you like best.

For a healthier version, you can substitute whole wheat flour for the 000 flour or make whole spelled pizza dough. In turn, I recommend that you use skim cheese and fill the layers of this pizza cake with vegetables. For example, roasted zucchini or aubergines, sautéed onion, fresh tomato slices, cooked broccoli or cauliflower, spinach, or mushrooms.
